Dance lessons

I am new to this, and am extremely intrigued. I would like to learn some dance. Are there any videos or suggestions?

I would suggest the videos by Youssef Koumbassa - "Wongai", and Moustapha Bangoura - "Tikanya". They can be found on a number of websites, including http://www.drumskulldrums.com and http://www.rhythmtraders.com.

Nothing beats the real thing... check to see if there are any teachers in your area.

Best of luck!

hi jen, i agree with bops' dvd recommendations. you will definitely want to take some classes to get into the spirit, correct your form and technique, give you a good warmup and keep you motivated. a quick search for african dance in florida found me these links:
florida drum teachers...a few options. aboubacar camara is good.
fort lauderdale area classes...with moussa soumah
florida african dance festival...annual event
